I love watching the Super Bowl and I plan on watching the whole thing. I'm actually three seconds from beating my Dad over the head and taking the remote control so that he will STOP CHANGING THE CHANNEL! I love watching a good game on a Sunday afternoon. The Giants were out of it from like... Late November and it killed me. Not as much as the repeated 'Who Dat' and 'Go Saints' that echoes off the halls at school. I've threatened Silent Lunch for anyone who says it in my class. Not simply because I'm pulling Colts (the Giants were perfect until they had their run-in with the Saints, and the enemy of my enemy... Plus, y'know me, Manning), but because it starts debates that disrupt things. Have fun watching the game everyone, after this comes Baseball, and GO COLTS!

| OK, so I saw lily_cat did this and I decided to copy. But I'm not going to lie, it's only because I liked the results. So the idea is to look up your name on Urban Dictionary and post the definition. Like I said, I really liked my responses. So much more enjoyable than the traditional Hebrew: Young, Youthful feminine for Julian that baby name books and websites have always provided for me. So, without further ado, Jillian! 1. This is a complex name to understand let alone define. The reason this is so complicated is because the many theory's experts have come to. One of the theory's states that this name is only used for people with extreme power and or abilities like a goddess or pharaoh. The extent of this name cannot put into perspective for the simple fact that a word has not been created that fully describes her. Philosophers say Cleopatra was going to be named Jillian but once the power of the name alone was considered they decided she could not fulfill such large shoes.
We have been graced with few words/phases that describe Jillian.
Jillian is an incredible friend, who's loyal and wont stab you in the back. She has an amazing sense of humor and loves to laugh and have a good time. She may come up with some ideas that simple minded humans cannot see the point or concept, these ideas takes someone else who's name shares the same magnitude as hers. Because of this some may consider her and some of her ideas crazy, stop yourself from thinking this because this type of crazy is far past your imagination and should be thought of as a good thing. Shes a beautiful woman to say the least. Hot/sexy would also be another good term to address her appearance. Her intelligence is far beyond anything a simple mind can understand so don't even try to venture down that road. Simply put Jillian is awesome for lack of a better word. Jillian. there is nothing that accurately describes her but this is as close as we can get. 2. 1.the sexiest person in the world. 2.justin will never stop luving this grl. 3.the soon-to-be mother of Justin's kids. Hey look, this guy luvs her like a jillian. 3. 1. not Justin's woman or baby-bearing machine! I am Jillian. Moment of absolute and unbelievable conceit over! What does your name mean? - The above is about:meme
- Hanging Out:Babysitting
- Feelin':calm
- Bangin' Down the Walls With:Hannah Reading

| OMG, it's been a while. I haven't posted because very little's been new. I'm still teaching my Exploratory, Mad Science 101, still subbing, still enjoying it and looking into schools to maybe teach one day. I've been a bit under the weather, but hopefully that will subside in time for Valentine's Day.
I have been geeking out on the Rick Riordan series 'Percy Jackson & The Olympians.' I borrowed the first one from the library and loved it. The writing is good but not spectacular and sometimes the phrasing is a bit awkward, but the storylines are fun and engaging so I love it. I've eaten my way through the following three books because one of the sixth grade boys loaned them to me. It's actually a bit scary to them the way I can read through books so quickly. They're a bit freaked out. Philip was sick yesterday and couldn't bring the final book for me, so Connor offered. I really need to do something nice for those two, but I'm not sure what.
After this I'll end up on a jag of Baseball books through Spring Training. Then I don't know what I'll read.
I did order some birthday presents this morning and I'm really happy with the ones that I got. It's my sister's birthday and Kat's birthday coming up.
This weekend is the South Eastern Horticultural show! Kat and I went last year and it was soooooo pretty. I'm looking forward to it again.
I need a good meme to do. Any suggestions?
Oh yeah, HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!

| So I've been reading Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There because the film comes out in March. The more and more I read, the less and less I understand and the more and more I think that these books came to Mr. Carroll in some kind of a drug trip. They're complete nonsense at times but the imagery is so expressive that making them into movies seems like close to the only way anyone could understand what's going on. Because if you see it, it should make an iota of sense.
Having read about the White Queen though, as much as I adore Ann Hathaway, she seems a bad choice for the role. They made her look so sleek, calm, pretty, and dignified, when in the book the White Queen's really dotty and can barely get her clothes facing right. Oh well, I have yet to reach the book's end, so maybe she transforms herself into the Queen Tim Burton has Ann Hathaway depicting.
I've been teaching my Mad Science 101 Exploratory for the past week and a half of school and I love it! I love hearing the kids ask questions, even when the associations they draw are so wrong that they make me laugh, I love it when they make some kind of breakthrough between the material I present and processing it themselves. I love seeing them run experiments and learn that while things might not always work perfectly, it's OK. Rumour has it that they like my class too and its one of the favourites.
Went and saw Parnassus last weekend and it was amazing! Gilliam flick through and through. Heath Ledger was wonderful and the way that they wove in the three actors who filled his role after his passing was seamless. Johnny Depp actually took me a while to figure out that it was another person.
OK, so I'm going to get a few more pages in before I have to go and get an oil change. Have fun everyone and Go Jets! And maybe Cowboys. I'm kinda sick of the Vikings.

| I'm going to start with the list of books I read in 2009. No where near as many as I read in 2008, but I realise that I got my computer in late '08 and have become very attached to him. Plus this year I actually had things to do at night as opposed to lie in bed and read so that makes a lot of difference. That and the library system didn't have several books that I was looking for anyway. - The Queen's Lady By: Barbara Kyle

I came to Dahlonega to spend New Year's Eve with Dax for the first time in our relationship and I'm so glad that I did. We went and saw Sherlock Holmes on Wednesday night. I already think that it's a fun movie, so it made me really happy that he enjoyed it as well. afterwards we went to dinner, but the best part came when we were driving home and the snow started! I know, right? One night of snow and the town was empty, the school campus was largely deserted, and we had to go out and play. We went to the drill field and had a snow ball fight. I froze. Which wouldn't have been so bad if the whole thawing process didn't hurt like hell. Last night we went to Avatar in 3D and dinner. It was a good movie, but I felt like there was something missing in the story that I couldn't put my finger on. It was really pretty though! They did kill off my favourite character however. When we got home we watched various cartoons and stuff before tuning into the ball dropping on HULU to share our first ever New Year's Kiss. In review, 2009 wasn't such a bad year. Like any other, it had its ups and downs. I found something that I want to do with my life in teaching, I love substituting, the Mets hurt themselves over and over, breaking my heart, just a bit, my friends reminded me that they're always there for me, I went on a European adventure!, I taught summer camp, and I think I can begin sorting out this whole being graduated thing, step by step, which is all I can really try to do anyway, right? Anyway! Happy New Year to everyone, I hope your 2010, decade ahead, and years to come are bright and fulfilling. I have to go upstairs and wake up Dax so we can get to wok on the day's cooking. We're having a picnic tonight!

| It's been a long time since I've posted and seriously, I only posted once this month. It's not even like I've been that busy, it's just that I haven't taken the time to get my thoughts in order to post what and how I've been doing. I've kept up with F-lists though.
So it's the holidays! Happy, happy, holidays to all who celebrate anything. Mom and I went to service out at Ceci's new church last night which was really nice. I've always loved her sermons and the congregation's friendly. Plus Kat played viola for the service so it was all very nice. Solemn, not so much. Especially not when Kat and I exchanged gifts on the piano after service and squealed like kids or when I threatened Craig for not having a library card. I'm glad Kat likes the cups and saucers I got for the apartment though. I really hoped that she would. She got me a 'My Fair Lady' box and I'm already in love with the Fair Trade Lotion. It's the colour of Pepto and smells like Peppermint.
After service we snuck downstairs for some Champagne and cookies with the choir. And I got a good laugh as both Kat and Craig threatened to drink the entire bottle of Champagne should I mention the Javy Vasquez trade. A moment made better by Kat declaring she could beat Craig to the booze first. Kat and I need to see Sherlock Holmes.
Mom and I drove home in pouring rain to open presents. My Dad's become a real party pooper these few years past, insisting that Christmas and opening gifts is 'for children.' He doesn't seem to get the whole family aspect of being together and seeing the looks on members of your family's faces as they open something you thoughtfully picked out anticipating their enjoyment of the piece. Actually, he doesn't understand the concept of any kind of special day. He just refuses to see any particular day (birthday, Thanksgiving, etc...) as different from any other. Me, I love any reason to celebrate. Even if gifts aren't involved, give me extra reason to spend time with loved ones (provided I can stand to spend extra time with those loved ones), do something special, etc, and I'll run with it to the best of my abilities.
Mom got me Levis like I asked for and she also gave me these cute little casserole dishes and heart-shaped ramekins we bought way back in October one night. My sister got me what might actually be the coolest pair of sneakers in existence. They're Chuck Taylors with cats and dogs wearing bow ties, and ties, and hats. My Dad 'got' me the flannel sheets that I wanted. I say 'got' because I know that Mom bought them and put his name on. Like I said, he doesn't get the whole gift thing.
I've got such a headache because I decided to have a rather sizable Vodka-Raspberry Soda drink last night. Ketel One's a strong devil of a bitch and I haven't figured out quite yet how much is too much before the drink tastes like some kind of liquid cleaner. Trying desperately to find out where and when Sherlock's playing tomorrow because it needs to happen. Eventually I have to get off my lazy ass and help Mom cook Christmas dinner, but not for some time. The room smells planty because I've got Henna 'curing' for me to do my hair at some point. I love dying my hair inky black at this time of year... It looks oh, so, good.
Any how, everyone enjoy yourselves, enjoy your day, and be with those you love!

| So I totally woke up this morning from a Final Exam Nightmare. Weird huh? And even weirder, it was for music theory! I never took a music theory class in my life. I actually began opening Carlos to check my e-mail for the testing notice that I kept seeing in my dream. Bee, did you miss an exam or something? So I spent the weekend in Dahlonega because Dax's birthday's next week but he'll be back home with his parents by then. We saw New Moon and went to Ruby Tuesday, his new favourite. Oh my God that movie is crack. At some point during all the Bella/Jacob melodrama, I leaned over and said, "This movie was much better when she spent all of her time trying to kill herself." For which he laughed and agreed. WILL CALL! Mother Schub's Spiced Lait du Chaud was my only must, must have. But more importantly, Dax met Kat and Eva! *squee* He likes them, and they like him (I assume) and that makes me toally happy. Got called in to sub for Wayne this morning and don't have lunch because we didn't have anything I could use to make one. I'm so totally going to get Chik-fil-a after school... Or maybe Sonic... So I was scrolling through my Google Reader and found this tasty tid-bit on The Frisky. Totally made my day. I know little to nothing of Perez Hilton, other than he likes to snipe and bitch about celebs and that he's got horrid dress sense. But you don't even need to know that to enjoy the clip. Whatta douche... Have fun everyone! | |

| So I just had a scare of a lifetime. I was doing some chores while house sitting, and when I went back into the bedroom I found that part of a chocolate bar was gone. Jackie, Rose's larger dog was the most likely culprit and I freaked the fuck out I started looking up everything from the lethal dosage of chocolate (she ate about 1-1.5 oz of a 64% Coaco Chili bar), to the emergency clinic's number to the treatment for it.
Called Rosie after the clinic and she told me that it should be OK, just watch her, but she's eaten bigger quantities of Chocolate (including part of Lucy's Halloween stash) before. She was more worried about Dan's itching problem (he's taken to hiding in the cat box from me so I can't pop his Benadryl down his throat, which s why he isn't the one who ate the chocolate) and asked me to give him a bath. So with dog watch under way and a lot of support, kind words, and comfort from Dax (who I'd called for other reasons and happened to call me back while I dealt) I'm beginning to calm down.
I should be getting my car back today!
Yesterday was errand day like, whoa! Rose's car needed the Emissions checked for her tag renewal, my Mom needed me to run to the Bank, I went to World Market and got a great deal on a ton of stuff. They had this promo where the first 200 customers yesterday would get a free tote bag. Everything (with a few exceptions like alcohol) you could fit into the bag properly was 15% off. My Mom wanted some mug sets, I got a new French Press, my newsboy cap had 'mysteriously' (and I say mysteriously with heavy sarcasm) vanished so I grabbed a new one, a back scratcher for my Dad, which prompted Mom to say get her one too, chocolate (which led to this morning's crazy), and a few other things. So thrilled! I also picked up a book for my Dad's Christmas gift, got a sweater at Old Navy, and meandered around Target a bit. All in all quite productive so I went and had lunch with Katerina and she told me that our ginormous BNever order is on its way.
Friday morning I sadly got up to do a smidge of Black Friday shopping. And by a smidge I mean that I mean that I went to Big Lots because they had a DDR X and Mat combo pack for the PS2 that I wanted. Got a few things on Mom's behalf and a new USB mouse for Carlos. Friday was also Post-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving. Ever since we were in college, we went to my friend Katherine's house on Black Friday for dinner to make sure the kids and families had a chance to catch up and keep in touch given that we were all over the place at school. So Kat decided to make it a Japanese Festive Sushi dinner and it was AWESOOOOOME! She really out-did herself and everything was beautiful and delicious. She's also got two cats in addition to her old Dachshund Won-Ton. They're lovely interesting little things.
After dinner we went to KARAOKE! It was great amazing fun. Sweet Caroline, Bitch, Bohemian Rhapsody, Michael Jackson, and much, much more.
Life's been a whirl this Thanksgiving and here I was expecting a lazy, relaxing weekend. So much for that speculation I suppose. I did however get to positively binge on Arrested Development this weekend. Makes me really sad that it was canceled. Will Call's this weekend and I've held on to enough of that money to pick up a Yule or two; probably Lick it 'Til it's Sticky. Dax should be with me too.
Back to life tomorrow! | |
|
| It's Thanksgiving! As usual, I'm parked in front of the TV watching the Thanksgiving Parade counting my blessings.
My Family (though I don't always like them, I usually love them) My Friends (Amazing through the good times and bad) My Boyfriend (Also Amazing through good and bad; love him to death) My Job(s) odd, fun, and fulfilling My Life (a must say mostly because of my accident last month) My Pets Baseball Football
My Mother pissed me off first thing in the morning by sending me on an errand for a glorified Toaster Oven at Big Lots. I gripe, I scowl, I still have a headache. So I'm working on getting rid of the damn thing.
I haven't written in a while because every time I intend to do so, I end up having to sub the next morning and going to bed early. I sub at least once a week it seems and I really like it. I'm hoping that I can be teaching there by next school year. I'm teaching an elective there over the next two quarters it looks like and I'll start sending out my resume for the 2010-2011 school year.
Have a fun day everyone and GO GIANTS!

I couldn't help but snort with laughter as I read this, so I had to file an answer. There's an XKCD comic somewhere in their archives that describes my routine to a 'T.' If I'm up after midnight, I'll check my early-updating webcomics. When I get up, I'll check my mail accounts, Google Reader, Friends Page and the comics that update while I slept. During the day I leave my email up in tabs in case something I need to respond to pops up while I do other things. When I get in from nannying, I check through the things that make me laugh and unwind: LolCats and most of those tabs, It Made My Day, Emails From Crazy People, and Crazy Things Parents Say. Those are my staples/routine, everything else is really fluid.
